The renovation of a historic residential Wardman apartment building near the Zoo is nearing completion, and UrbanTurf recently got a sense of what the new building will look like.
In 2014, CAS Riegler and Commonwealth Residential purchased South Cathedral Mansions at 2900 Connecticut Avenue NW (map) for $70 million. For the last year, the partnership along with Snead Construction has been renovating and expanding the building into a 165-unit apartment project.

The renovated units will range from one-bedrooms to three-bedroom, three-bath apartments. Amenities at the development will include a spa and gym, a dog run, and an outdoor pool and lounge. The “Carriage House” is the structure in the rear of the property that was repurposed into an indoor/outdoor lounge with a full test kitchen, grills and a coffee bar.
Oculus Realty will start leasing apartments at the new building next month. See more images of the project below.
