One of downtown Bethesda's largest developments is under construction at the future site of Bethesda's Purple Line stop at 7272 Wisconsin Avenue (map) — and now, new images provide a better sense of the project's residential portion.
Interior renderings of The Elm, the residential component of the 295 foot-tall development have been posted to the project website. The Elm will include roughly 460 apartments in two 28-story volumes connected by an amenity "Skybridge".
Sixty of the apartments will be moderately priced dwelling units for households earning up to 70 percent of area median income. Move-ins are expected to begin next fall. The overall development will also include 14,572 square feet of retail, 7,500 square feet of open public space, and The Wilson, a 23-story, 348,000 square foot office building which will house the new Fox 5 headquarters in 2021.
Carr Properties and Insight Property Group are the developers and Shalom Baranes is the architect. Additional renderings are below.
