Today, UrbanTurf is pausing as we approach the middle of the year to look back on the most expensive home sales in the DC region so far in 2021.
An $8.4 Million Sale Off Embassy Row
This six-bedroom European inspired home in DC is the third priciest home sale in the region this year. It closed for $8,375,000 in February. The home, located in the Woodland-Normanstone neighborhood off Embassy Row, was renovated by Barnes-Vanze Architects in 2014, a renovation that added a heated swimming pool to the grounds. The almost 13,000-square foot house also has large rooms for entertaining and backs up to an expanse of parkland.

This sprawling Nantucket-inspired home in Potomac not far from Congressional Country Club sold in March for $8.5 million. Built in 2002, the home has seven bedrooms and spreads out over 13,000 square feet on six acres. An $8.5 million price tag results in home features that buyers aren't likely to find at many other residences. With this home, those features include a putting green, 27-foot ceilings in the owner's bathroom and three heated garages with space for eight cars.

$11 Million For Maison Vendome
The most expensive home sale in the DC region in 2021 also comes with its own name. Maison Vendome is a six-bedroom estate in McLean that sold in April for $11 million. Built in 2007, Maison Vendome was styled in the mold of a French manor home from the 19th century. The house has its own ballroom with a wet bar from which a library is accessible via a hidden panel. The property also has a climate controlled wine cellar, a 12-seat home theater, an indoor basketball court, as well as full spa offerings including an indoor pool, sauna, steam room, and massage room.
