A penthouse in Friendship Heights that is one of the most expensive condos on the market in Maryland has found a buyer.

The two-floor, 9,100 square foot residence at Somerset House II went under contract with contingencies at a list price of $7.75 million. The condo, which hasn't been on the market in decades, is listed with Jamie Coley and Zelda Heller of Long & Foster Real Estate.

The residence has many trappings of a unit carrying this price tag. There is a wood-paneled library, a restaurant-worthy bar and a huge salon space with 18-foot west-facing windows. The primary suite has a sitting room with a fireplace, two dressing room areas, two separate baths (one with another fireplace), and a steam/sauna room.

The home has several spacious terraces throughout the two levels, and comes with not one, but four garage parking spaces. Somerset is one of the more luxurious condo complexes in Montgomery County, featuring 24-hour security, tennis courts, indoor/outdoor pools, a state-of-the-art gym, and a racquetball court.

The four-bedroom listing originally hit the market last spring for the lofty price of $10.5 million.
