New 59-Unit Residential Development Planned East of the River

More residential development is on the boards east of the Anacostia River.
Neighborhood Development Company recently filed a zoning application to construct five-stories of affordable housing totalling 59 units in the River Terrace neighborhood. The units will be available to households earning up to 50 percent of area median income.
The site at 3450 Eads Street NE (map) will be improved with a 56-foot building towards the 36th and Eads Street intersection, while a portion will be stepped down to three stories along the alleyway.

The three-story component will create eight units, with two bi-level three-bedrooms, two one-bedrooms, and four single-level three-bedrooms, along with a roof deck. The five-story component will deliver 51 units, comprised of 27 one-bedrooms and 24 two-bedrooms atop a garage with 22 parking spaces and bicycle storage. The development team also includes Grimm and Parker and A. Morton Thomas and Associates.
