Last week, UrbanTurf reported that per square foot prices in DC are as high as $842 in certain sections of the city. Now, a study shows that, when looking citywide, a small budget still doesn't go a long way.
According to PropertyShark, $200,000 can afford a buyer only 423 square feet worth of lodging in DC. That works out to a citywide per square foot price of $473.

Among the largest cities, only in San Jose (376 square feet), Boston (371 square feet), San Francisco (260 square feet) and Manhattan (126 square feet) does that budget buy even less. Meanwhile, that same budget can buy as much as 3,769 square feet in Cleveland.
PropertyShark uses their own data to calculate per square foot prices, dividing each city's median home price by their median square footage.
