A condo that delivered earlier this year is setting records in Columbia Heights.

The largest residence at the Helicopter Factory listed for $2.5 million — the highest price ever for a condo in Columbia Heights — has gone under contract.

The 5,077 square-foot, three-story unit, dubbed a “mansion warehouse”, was carved out of a factory building at 770-774 Girard Street NW (map) and has an industrial aesthetic that harkens back to its previous life as an inventor’s workshop.

The unit boasts a 50-by-50 foot layout, 15 foot-high ceilings, a wrap-around roof deck and a nearly 1,500 square-foot courtyard/parking area. Interior details inside the unit include exposed wooden beams, joists and brick walls, as well as two fireplaces.

Brook Rose Development and Brick Lane Real Estate developed the Helicopter Factory residences, while Urban Design Group handled the design aspects of the project. Sales were handled by Michael Hines of TTR Sotheby’s International Realty.
