Months after Hyperloop conducted a successful test of its high-speed travel system, Elon Musk is teasing approval of a route connecting DC, Baltimore, Philadelphia and New York — a route and method which would take travelers from District to New York in 29 minutes.

In a tweet this morning, Musk stated that his Boring Company had received verbal approval from the government to construct this route. He elaborates in a subsequent tweet that the route would travel to each city center and would include “up to a dozen or more entry/exit elevators in each city”.
Don’t get excited just yet.
The Verge reports that the verbal approval claim has not yet been confirmed by the Boring Company nor the US Department of Transportation; it is also unclear from the tweets whether any of the aforementioned local governments are in on the plans.
“Some are already speculating that Musk may have gotten sign-off from White House senior advisor (and Trump son-in-law) Jared Kushner’s office of American Innovation, which has expressed interest in the hyperloop,” the article states.
In addition to the DC-NY loop, some construction has already began on a loop connecting San Francisco and Los Angeles.
