Hospitality High School at 9th and T Street NW.
A residential conversion is on the boards for a high school in Shaw, UrbanTurf has learned.
The proposal from Hollow Creek Investment Group would convert the Hospitality High School at 1851 9th Street NW (map) into a four-story, plus mezzanine, 29-unit condo development. The project is designed by Arcadia Design.

The school building was designed and constructed by architect Albert Cassel in 1932 as a lodge for the Odd Fellows. It then became the Maya Angelou Public Charter School before becoming the site for Hospitality High School in 1998. Executive Director Michael Cucciardo told UrbanTurf that the school is merging with DC Public Schools next year, and that the students will attend other academies in the city that focus on hospitality.
The development team recently filed documents with the Board of Zoning Adjustment for variances related to lot area, height and addition to a non-conforming structure.
