While Prince George's County reckons with improving its zoning code and planning the future of the Landover area, a residential development is in the works a half-mile from Largo Town Center Metro station.
The NRP Group has filed a site plan with Prince George's County to move forward with plans to add multifamily to one of Largo's prominent intersections. If approved, the development would deliver 260 apartments to the vacant 7.7-acre parcel on the southwest corner of Central Avenue and Harry S. Truman Drive (map).

The units would be spread across three 4-story buildings, along with 367 parking spaces. The applicant is requesting relief for minimum required size and to provide fewer than the minimum number of parking spaces. Amenities will include a fitness center, pool deck, grilling stations, and a "yoga lawn". The P.G. County Planning Board is scheduled to hold a hearing on the project next week.
A church previously approved for the site was partially constructed, then razed last year. In May 2018, the Planning Board also approved a site plan for construction of 306 townhouses on a portion of the subdivision that also contains this particular site.
