A residential project on the boards for a neighborhood not known for new multi-family development has made a few changes prior to meeting with DC's Board of Zoning Adjustment next month.
The apartment development on the boards for the triangular site at 4885 MacArthur Boulevard NW (map) has made a number of changes based on community feedback since it was pitched last year. The development will now have 21 apartments, instead of 19, and one of the vacant retail spaces on the ground floor will now house residential amenity space.

Other changes include the trellis feature on the northern edge of the property being nixed in favor of umbrellas, and more balconies and changes to the facade materials have been implemented based on comments from the community.

The new project, designed by Teass\Warren Architects, will consist of one- and two-bedroom apartments with three apartments reserved for Inclusionary Zoning. The apartments would be constructed above retailers Black Coffee and Dodge Chrome.
The project will go before the BZA on February 14.
