Another small office building in Northern Virginia will be replaced with a substantial new residential development.
The Meridian Group has plans in the works to replace a five-story office building at 2500 Wilson Boulevard (map) with a 16-story residential building with 323 apartments. The development, designed by Studios Architecture, will also have 18,000 square feet of ground floor retail and an underground parking garage with about 237 spaces.
The proposal for the new development also includes a number of site improvements, including new bicycle facilities, two outdoor dining areas and upwards of 7,000 square feet of public space.
This is just the latest project set to replace an aging office building along Wilson Boulevard. Back in July, an affiliate of Carr Properties filed plans with Arlington County to construct an 8-story, 312-unit apartment building at 3033 Wilson Boulevard that would replace a seven-story office building at the address.
