One of the most expensive homes on the market in the DC area sold last week, at a bit of a discount.
Listed for just south of $16 million, the home in the works for 1191 Crest Lane in McLean calls for a 20,000 square-foot house with a series of entertaining areas on a lot over three acres.
The under-construction home sold on Friday for $12 million, a notable discount from the asking price. While listing agents Jason Mandel and Mark McFadden of Washington Fine Properties did not want to comment on the sale, a post-closing note in the listing speaks to the reason for the heavy discount.

"House sold prior to construction completion, seller reduced asking price (during negotiations) by nearly $4M to allow buyer to finish new construction. Sales price reflects semi-finished condition."
Even at the heavily discounted price, this home is the most expensive residential sale in the DC area this year.
