13 In The Sky: A Look At DC's Crane Count

A new report provides details on the number of cranes currently adorning the DC skyline.
According to Rider Levett Bucknall (RLB), the city has about 13 construction cranes active as of this month. While this is an increase from earlier this year, it is down notably from 2020, when there were 45 cranes in the sky in DC.

"The city is seeing a mix of government and mixed-use developments, and Georgetown is transforming with new buildings, hotels, and commercial spaces," the latest RLB survey said about DC. "Simultaneously, multiple projects around the National Mall are underway to accommodate increasing visitor numbers and government functions."
