A new apartment building is on the boards at the site of the Dominion Apartments in Arlington.
Snell Properties has filed plans with Arlington County to construct a four-story, 124-unit development at 333 South Glebe Road (map) in the Arlington Heights Historic District.

"Recognizing the historic nature of the existing apartment building and the opportunity for the site to generate additional housing, the Applicant proposes to retain the existing Dominion Apartment building, rezone a portion of the parcel, and develop a new four-story apartment building with approximately 124 units," the plans stated.
The development -- designed by ktgy -- will also have a new garage with 172 spaces, in addition to an existing surface parking lot with 149 spaces. The developer is working through a plan to provide affordable housing at the existing apartments as part of the new development.
