Washington-McLaughlin Christian School Campus Redevelopment

Takoma Development has filed conceptual plans to convert the former Washington-McLaughlin Christian School campus into a 16-home community. The project includes 7 detached houses, a 2-unit duplex and 7 townhouses. A former apartment building and an adult day care would be converted into the 7 townhouses, while the old school cafeteria and multipurpose building would become a community center for residents. The vacant 2-story school building would be demolished. The detached houses, each about 2,000 square feet and some with attached ADUs, would be built along the site’s edges next to existing neighbors on Gude, Conway and Circle avenues, and the duplex would sit in the interior. A short private road extending from the Circle Avenue cul-de-sac would serve five of the houses and the duplex, while the existing driveway off Poplar Avenue would continue to serve the townhouses and two additional houses.
