World's Most Expensive One-Bedroom?: Figure 1

There are probably a handful of people in the DC-area who could/would drop $32 million on a home, but how many people would spend about two-thirds that amount on just a one-bedroom?

In a slight departure from all things DC-real estate related, we offer you a look at what is likely the most expensive single bedroom listing in the world.

UltraLinx recently featured a 4,434 square-foot, one-bedroom apartment in Tokyo with a jaw-dropping price tag: $21.8 million.

Located in the tony Minami-Azabu neighborhood, the property has custom-designed furniture, European-imported walls, floors and doors, and original art created not just for the apartment but in the apartment.

With only one bedroom and loads of square footage, the home has many spaces you won’t find in a normal abode: a closet the size of a 14th Street boutique store, an inner courtyard within the unit, a u-shaped table surrounding a Benihana-style grill, and a bathtub big enough for a family reunion. Still, for just one bedroom, $21 million is a lot of coin to drop.
