In What X Buys You this week, UrbanTurf takes a look at properties on the market in the $745,000 to $750,000 range to give readers an idea of what type of homes are available in this price point in the DC area.
An Arts and Crafts Home With One Owner in 30 Years
This six-bedroom home has apparently had only one owner in the past 30 years. The Arts and Crafts listing has the built-ins, simple moldings and wide porch that you would expect from the style, but the cement-looking porch around a stucco exterior give it a modern touch. There are a few other cool features, like steps connecting the family room to the kitchen, two finished bedrooms in the sloped-ceilinged attic, and a stone patio in the backyard. The four second-floor bedrooms are all fairly spacious, and the master bedroom has a sweet balcony connected to it. The unfinished basement also has loads of storage space.

Chevy Chase Colonial with a Rec Room
This four-bedroom home caught our eye for three reasons: the usable attic, the wide front porch and the inviting back patio. The traditional colonial has three main bedrooms but the attic and the rec room in the finished basement could be a additional places for people to rest their head. The checkerboard floor tile in the kitchen, black and white tile in the bathroom and blue window shutters are cute features in a house that sits on a large, private lot with giant trees all around it.

An Unusual Layout in a Silver Spring Cape Cod
The layout of this Cape Cod is a little unusual, with two main floor bedrooms and a giant master suite on the upper level The master suite is comprised of a large bedroom area with a fireplace on one side of the staircase and an office with a reading nook on the other side. The finished lower level is fairly expansive, with space for a family room, a pool table and a bedroom. One of UrbanTurf’s favorite spots is the screened-in porch, which has a ceiling fan, walls of windows and views into the landscaped backyard.
