This week in What X Rents You, UrbanTurf looked in the $2,000 a month range and found a variety of choices for prospective renters in the DC area with this monthly budget.
Sleek Studio at Smoke-Free 425 Mass
A studio at 425 Mass, the luxury apartment building near Mount Vernon Square, just became available. The square footage looks to be fairly small, but the location is within walking distance of downtown and the building has luxury trimmings like a rooftop pool, high ceilings and general sleekness. Utilities aren’t included in the rental rate, and parking and storage are available for an additional fee. And, as is known around town, the building is 100% smoke-free.

Two-Bedroom English Basement in Shaw
The eventual occupant of this lower-level, two-bedroom in Shaw will have access to a roof deck, but the unit may not be quite the two-bedroom that is advertised; the posting mentions that the “large bedroom functions as the living room as well as a bedroom.” For a basement, the windows in each room let in a fair amount of light, and the location at 6th and Q puts it close to the Metro. The unit will be ready for move-in on December 3rd.

- Rent: $1,950 a month

Just Built Three-Bedroom in Ashburn
For this rental out in Ashburn, you may want to check that it has indeed been built before heading out to take a look. The listing says that the “to be built” three-bedroom will be ready for occupants by November 19th. Located off the Dulles toll road, the 1596 square-foot unit will sit on two levels, with all bedrooms on the second floor, and it comes with a parking spot.
