Lofted Room in a Cathedral Heights House, With a Catch

For those willing to live in a group house, this Cathedral Heights rental offers big windows, a peaked roof and charming wood paneling. However, in addition to sharing a bathroom with roommates, it has a feature that cuts into the tenant’s privacy: the lofted room lacks typical walls and is open to the staircase. The current renter vouches for the appeal despite this aspect, and encourages the use of a screen to create a bit of a division.

Attic Apartment in a Brookland Victorian

The next option is also an attic apartment, though there is one big difference: this one is private. Located on the top floor of a Brookland Victorian, this two-bedroom has its own entrance and comes with a kitchen, a clawfoot bathtub and quiet reading nooks. With its location adjacent to Catholic University, we’re betting that life in this apartment would be quiet and peaceful.

Basement Studio in Petworth

This studio takes up the lower level of a Petworth rowhouse, and it is long enough that the space can be divided into several room-like areas. The current renter appears to have a bedroom, an office-like space, a living room and a dining room, along with several bookshelves. The renter will also have access to a shared backyard.
