This week’s departure from all things DC real estate is for the Mega Millions winners out there.
The Wall Street Journal reported recently that a group of three islands are for sale off the Amalfi coast in Italy for the paltry sum of $263 million. The islands were once owned by Franco Zeffirelli, an Italian film director who was nominated for an Academy Award for a movie version of Romeo and Juliet. Current owner Italian hotelier Giovanni Russo wants to sell the islands and spend the rest of his days traveling.
From The Wall Street Journal:
The largest island has three villas and a stone tower with a cumulative 13 bedrooms. There’s also a helipad, boat storage, three swimming pools and two 30-foot boats.
A commenter cleverly described the islands as Berlusconi’s Elba.
