U.S. Ambassador Buys Top Chef House

Washingtonian.com recently reported that U.S. Ambassador Jon Huntsman Jr. is the buyer of the five-bedroom house that served as home for Top Chef contestants during the DC season of the popular Bravo TV show. Huntsman used to be the governor of Utah and is now U.S. ambassador to China.
In June, we wrote that the old-school Kalorama home at 2121 Leroy Place NW (map) had sold for $3.6 million. The listing was initially offered at $3.89 million, but sat on the market for several months before the price was reduced. In 2006, it sold for $5.25 million.
