2724 Chain Bridge Road NW
This Week’s Find is a contemporary, window-filled home that stands out in stark contrast to its traditional neighbors.

Glass Walls and a Swimming Pool
The striking exterior of the six-bedroom home is constructed mainly of glass and cedar siding and is topped with a green roof. Like a proverbial glass house, the views into and out of the home are mostly unobstructed. Luckily, the home sits on a half acre of land along Battery Kemble Park, so there are plentiful trees to enhance the privacy.
The home was built in 1977 and is located on a tree-lined portion of Chain Bridge Road, surrounded by traditional colonial homes.
The interior has one very large amenity: a 40-foot long indoor pool at the base of the ground floor. The pool is surrounded by walls of glass and capped by a skylight, so the ceiling reaches all the way up to the top floor. The other rooms in the house, some of which look down into the pool area, are also open, but hardwood floors and built-in shelves add some warmth and solidity. The floating staircase adds to the openness.
If a pool isn’t enough, there is also a waterfall and a sauna in the home.
