The price for a single-family detached home in Washington, DC hit a new record last month.
The median price for arguably the most sought-after property type in the city over the last three years came in at $1.3 million, according to Bright MLS, just slightly higher than the previous record set last June. This price is up 14% compared to February and a whopping 48% compared to March 2021.
A look around the city in the first quarter finds that the neighborhoods that saw the highest year-over-year price increase were Palisades (49%), Woodridge (24%) and Spring Valley (12%).
Just outside the DC borders, Alexandria saw single-family prices remain above $1 million for the second straight month, and prices in Fairfax County (13%) and Loudoun County (16%) both increased by double-digits.
