The tiny houses of Stronghold continue to garner national recognition.
Brian Levy’s Minim House, which UrbanTurf has written about a number of times in recent years, has currently tallied the most votes Apartment Therapy’s Small/Cool contest for 2014. This is the tenth year that the home/apartment decorating website has run the contest in which entrants can show off their “beautiful small [living] spaces” and in the process, compete for some fairly high-end prizes.
Levy’s house, designed by Foundry Architects, spreads out over just 210 square feet. Here is Levy describing the many things he can do in the space, which has a variety of design features that serve multiple functions:
I can have a dinner party for 8, take an overnight guest on the 8’ couch, cook in a highly functional 10’ galley kitchen (with space for the KitchenAid, food dehydrator, bread maker, 60 quart jars of dried food, etc), keep a guitar and a full size keyboard (under the folding desktop), have movie night with friends on the pull down projection screen, keep plenty of clothes and equipment in a 5’ closet, and have plenty of shelf space for a bar, 200 books, sewing machine, etc.
