Another streatery is planned for the DC region and this one is coming to one of the area's most heavily-trafficked routes.
Starting today at 5pm, the right traffic lanes on either side of Georgia Avenue, on the block between Thayer and Silver Spring Avenues (map), will be closed for outdoor dining. There are at least eight restaurants along that stretch.

The streateries on Georgia Avenue will be in effect at least through June 21st.
Montgomery County began permitting outdoor dining service for establishments that sell food at the beginning of June to enable diners to physically distance while the county phases in "reopening" amid the pandemic. Each establishment must register with the county; additional "reopening" guidelines are here.
