Raze Permit Filed to Retrofit Mount Pleasant Laundromat into 15 Apartments

Five months after receiving approval from the Historic Preservation Review Board (HPRB) for a residential-over-retail concept, raze permits have been filed for a laundromat located on a main corridor in the Mount Pleasant Historic District.

Velocity Property Management plans to restore the façade of the building at 3215 Mount Pleasant Street NW (map) and add three stories, delivering 15 residential units and 1,420 square feet of ground-floor retail. Two of the units will be inclusionary zoning (IZ). KASA Architecture is the designer.
