Last October, the owners of the Dancing Crab, a restaurant that was once a staple in Tenleytown, shared plans with the local ANC for a mixed-use development at the site. On Monday, those plans were officially filed with the city.
The planned-unit development at 4615 Wisconsin Avenue NW (map) and 4611 41st Street NW (map) calls for a seven-story apartment project with approximately 41 residential units and about 5,000 square feet of retail including a rooftop bar/restaurant. The project would have nine parking spaces, two of which would be reserved for car-sharing companies.

The units at the project will largely be studios and one-bedroom units, but a pair of two-bedroom apartments and a one-bedroom unit would be set aside for inclusionary zoning. The development was designed by architect Bonstra|Haresign.
The new development will join a pair of larger residential buildings in the area, one that just opened and another that is on the boards. Frequency Apartments, a 100-unit apartment building at the site of the former WAMU headquarters, recently opened its doors, and Broadcast, a 146 -unit development is on the boards for 4620 Wisconsin Avenue NW. Both projects are from Urban Investment Partners.
