Pending Home Sales Shot Up In November

The housing market showed signs of renewed energy in November as pending home sales increased 3.3%, marking the strongest month-over-month performance of 2025.
The National Association of REALTORS® reported the jump represented the best performance in nearly three years, dating back to February 2023. Sales contracts also rose year-over-year by 2.6%, with all four regions in the U.S. posting gains.
"Improving housing affordability–driven by lower mortgage rates and wage growth rising faster than home prices–is helping buyers test the market," NAR Chief Economist Lawrence Yun said. "More inventory choices compared to last year are also attracting more buyers to the market."
Agent confidence appears to be climbing alongside the contract activity. According to NAR's November Confidence Index survey, 22% of members expect buyer traffic to increase over the next three months, up from 17% in October, though still below the 24% recorded a year ago.
