Pending home sales increased in December for the first time since May, the National Association of Realtors announced on Friday. Sales rose 2.5% compared to November.
“This recent low point in home sales activity is likely over,” said NAR Chief Economist Lawrence Yun. “Mortgage rates are the dominant factor driving home sales, and recent declines in rates are clearly helping to stabilize the market.”
UrbanTurf has heard anecdotally from a number of industry professionals that the market got a lot busier over the last few weeks. Look for our article soon on whether or not this was the case.
