A month after home showings took a dramatic nosedive in DC in the wake of physical distancing guidelines, new data shows a rebound in April for both in-person property showings and online viewings.
The latest data from ShowingTime indicates that property showings in DC proper for the week ending April 21st fell by 45% from the 2020 weekly average, and by 54% compared to the same time last year.

However, showings have been trending upward since the second week of April. In the week ending April 6th, showings hit their lowest level this year, sitting at 60% beneath this year's weekly average, so the drop-off of just 45% reveals an increase in activity.
Amid stay-at-home orders and brokerages increasingly offering remote showing options, a new Zillow report shows a rebound in traffic to online property listings.
In the DC area, Zillow listing views bottomed out in the week ending March 22nd, falling by 14% year-over-year, but in the week ending April 7th, views had rebounded to the same levels seen in April 2019. And, for the week ending April 15th, views were up by 21% year-over-year.
Zillow's year-over-year comparisons have been adjusted so that the "week" ends on the same day (eg. the week ending Wednesday, April 15, 2020 is compared to the week ending Wednesday, April 17, 2019).
