At this point in December, the pickings of new for-sale listings get a little slim, but in this edition of NoVa Best New Listings, we were able to find some pretty good bargains in Alexandria.

Walking Distance to King Street Metro for Under $300K
Alexandria’s King Street Metro is surrounded by pricey luxury condo developments, where one bedroom units can fetch in the mid-to-high $300s. While this one-bedroom on Roberts Lane isn’t right across the street from the subway, it’s still within walking distance—and what’s a few blocks when we’re talking about $100,000 in savings? The complex where the unit is located also has tennis courts, a pool, a picnic area, and the same Masonic Temple views enjoyed by the residents of the luxury condos in the area.
- Full Listing: 132 Roberts Lane #200 Alexandria, Va. (map)
- Price: $275,000
- Bedrooms: One
- Bathrooms: One
- Year Built: 1974
- Listing Agent: Lesa Jones, Prudential PenFed Realty

Live Just Off of Mount Vernon Avenue for Under $200K
There aren’t a ton of Del Ray homes on the market for people who want to live in close proximity to The Dairy Godmother, but can’t afford to spend $1 million on a bungalow or a half-million on a semi-detached row house. The neighborhood has more condos than it did five years ago, but they’re still few and far between, and tend to be fairly expensive. So, this small one-bedroom, which sits just a block off Mount Vernon Avenue, offers a rare, but good deal. In addition to being within walking distance of numerous shops and restaurants, the $195,000 price tag gets you a few modern upgrades (stainless steel appliances, glass-tile backsplash in the kitchen), a parking spot, and a shared balcony/outdoor porch.
- Full Listing: 305 E. Duncan Avenue, Unit 305-B Alexandria, Va. (map)
- Price: $195,000
- Bedrooms: One
- Bathrooms: One
- Year Built: 1940
- Listing Agent: Brian Hong, Long & Foster
