North of $600,000: DC Home Prices Just Below Record-High in May

The latest housing report for the DC region continues to reinforce common themes from the past year, including rising home prices.
The median home price in the region in May increased $15,000 year-over-year to reach a record-high of $480,000, according to the latest monthly report from Brightly MLS.
In DC proper, prices eclipsed $600,000 for just the second time, coming in at $600,555 in May, just a few thousand dollars short of the record price of $603,375 set in June 2018.

- $480,000 -- The median home price for the DC region in May, up $15,000 compared to last year and the highest median sales price of the decade.
- $342,000 -- The median home price for the region in May 2010.
- $600,555 -- The median home price for DC in May, just below the all-time record of $603,000, set last June.
- 99.4% -- The average percent of original list price received at sale in May.
- 5,688 -- The number of sales in the region in May, down 0.6 percent compared to last year.
