A little more than a year after UrbanTurf broke news of a by-right condominium development planned on the cusp of NoMa, the Tribeca is moving forward.
Yesterday, Urban Investment Partners (UIP), Kadida Development, United Investments and Alliance Real Estate Development held a groundbreaking for the 99-unit building at 40 N Street NE (map). Located two blocks from the NoMa/Gallaudet University Metro station, the project will deliver some of the first new for-sale multifamily units to the neighborhood.
“Until now, there wasn’t anything for sale that [people] could buy right in the heart of this thriving neighborhood," Tom Kadida said in a statement. "Tribeca offers the opportunity for people to remain in this area and become homeowners."
The "Tribeca" name is a nod to the building's location on a triangular site off New York Avenue NE, as well as its architectural style courtesy of Torti Gallas. Urban Pace is expected to begin sales of the one, one plus-den and two bedroom units early next year, with prices starting in the upper $400’s.
