A recently-launched tool aims to help renters in DC find an apartment in close proximity to public transit.
Trulia’s Rent Near Transit feature, launched at the beginning of the month, is a search filter that helps apartment hunters find a rental within a 15-minute walk of a Metro station.
“We know that 70 percent of renters want to be close to their job, school, or transit,” said Yardley Ip, general manager of Trulia Rentals. “By combining rental listings with transit lines, Rent Near Transit filters out listings that are not convenient for a renter, so they can move fast in finding their next perfect home.”
To use it, renters go to their city page and then click on the Metro station that they would like to live near. Rental results then pop up around the chosen station. Prospective DC renters can try it out here.
