Rendering of The Asher
DCmud recently reported that development company Erkiletian will soon start work on The Asher, a 206-unit apartment building located at 621 North Payne Street (map) in Alexandria.
From DCmud:
Developers say both the site and building permits should be issued this week, allowing them to submit for demolition permits next week to tear down the Security Storage warehouse now on the lot. Erkiletian says work could begin by mid-November, with demolition lasting about 2 months.
Once complete, The Asher will have 206 apartment units, a 256-space parking garage, a business and fitness center, and a small retail component. The Asher is also seeking LEED Silver certification as the project offers energy-efficient appliances, an extensive water-saving system, and an advanced waste management system, among other green aspects.
