UrbanTurf continues its annual look at the neighborhood housing markets around the DC region as we head over to Congress Heights.

Similar to our look at Congress Heights last year, the market in this Ward 8 neighborhood in 2023 doesn't look much different from 2022.

Home sales have dropped this year, but only slightly compared to 2022. And home prices are up, but again just a notch from where they stood at this point last year. Competition in the market is down, as seen in a lower sales-to-original list price ratio this year, but with nearly 100 sales completed in the neighborhood this year, activity still seems brisk.

Below UrbanTurf plucked out several other interesting stats about the Congress Heights market.

  • $412,000 -- The median home price in Congress Heights this year, up 3% from 2022.
  • 99 -- The number of homes sold this year, down 7% from last year.
  • 38 -- The average number of days that homes are spending on the market.
  • 5 -- The months of inventory for homes on the market.
