DC's first Lidl store will open soon, bringing a new grocery option to wards 7 and 8.
The European grocery store chain announced Monday that its new store at Skyland Town Center will open on September 28. The store will anchor the new development.

This will just be the first Lidl store to open in DC. In February, Lidl and Mayor Bowser's administration announced the grocer's plans to open a 27,000 square-foot location on the ground floor at the DC USA mall in Columbia Heights (map). And in May, the Washington, D.C. Economic Partnership announced Sunday that discount grocer Lidl will open a 29,000 square-foot store at Upton Place, a large new mixed-use development under construction at 4000 Wisconsin Avenue NW (map).
