It’s been awhile since UrbanTurf checked in on the new offerings of the world’s largest search engine. While the latest feature rolled out by Google is not directly relevant to those on the real estate hunt, we use Google Maps in so many of our articles that it seemed noteworthy.

The Google blog recently reported that Google Maps has added a weather function that shows users temperatures and weather conditions for locations around the globe.

There is a widget in the upper right corner of Google Maps that if users hover over will allow the weather layer to be added. Icons like the sun, clouds, rain, etc. identify a general weather pattern, but by clicking on the weather icon for a particular city, a window opens that gives detailed data like current humidity and wind conditions, as well as a four-day forecast for the given city.
