The Fort Lauderdale-based Foreclosure Response Team is bringing its services to the DC area, the Washington Business Journal reports. The goal of the team, which currently has offices in Florida, Michigan and Georgia, is to help speed up the sale of residential and commercial properties facing foreclosure.
Started in May 2008, the team signs on affiliates in different parts of the U.S. to help with short sale transactions. Marc Cormier, an agent with McLean’s Re/Max Allegiance, will be in charge of the DC-area operations, and expects to have 300 to 500 agents join the team by the end of 2009.
From the WBJ:
“The Foreclosure Response Team’s expansion into the Washington D.C. region is part of the company’s aggressive plan to provide prime markets across the country with the professional resources necessary to help to homeowners avoid foreclosure through a Short Sale,” said Scott Coloney, president of the team.
After dropping off in May, foreclosures spiked in the DC area in June, but remained below where they were a year ago.
