The Faith Bible Church at 1350 Maryland Avenue NE in the H Street Corridor has been purchased and will be turned into condos, Housing Complex reported early Sunday.
Lydia DePillis reported that the buyer is Valor Development, and that the active local developer has plans for a 49-unit condo project called The Maia on the site of the church.
Forty nine seems to be a magic number for Valor, as that is the same size of the condo development that they are planning at 300 L Street NE. For that development and the planned project at the site of the Faith Bible Church, the developer is partnering with PGN Architects, a firm that is also working on a a new townhouse project in Anacostia.
“The latest rendering shows some of the Capitol Hill elements we are using,” PGN Architects principal Jeff Goins told UrbanTurf, pointing to the one-story bay details and noting that some of the inspiration for the design came from the Pierce School across the street.
