EastBanc has projects in the pipeline from NW DC to Capitol Hill, and UrbanTurf recently got a few updates (some of which have already been reported) on their Georgetown and West End developments, including one with a groundbreaking in the next several months.
- We previously reported that The Old Georgetown Post Office at 3125 M Street NW (map) was going to be developed into condos; Eastbanc’s Mary Mottershead informed us that the building will be now going commercial.
- A project at 1045 Wisconsin Ave NW (map) will be breaking ground later this year with completion expected by mid-2014. EastBanc is planning on building seven or eight large condos ranging in size from 3,000 to 4,000 square feet at the site on the south side of the C&O Canal, a project first reported on by the Washington Business Journal in early 2011. “All of them will have north views overlooking the canal and south views overlooking the Grace Church yard with distant river views beyond,” Mottershead told us. The project will also have ground level retail, a green roof and below-grade parking.

- The Key Bridge Exxon site is still slated for residential use, but Eastbanc has not finalized project plans yet. Last year, it was announced that a 35-37 unit, five-story development was in the works for the site at 3607 M Street NW (map), adjacent to the stairs that were made famous in the movie The Exorcist. Mottershead said that Eastbanc intends to go through the design approval and construction drawing phase over the next 18 months with a projected groundbreaking in the third quarter of 2013.
The EastBanc project that has been making headlines over the past year is the mixed-use development on the site of the Hines School in Eastern Market. ANC 6B will be discussing the redevelopment at their meeting on Tuesday night; UrbanTurf will provide an update on Wednesday.
