Co-living is coming to a former Columbia Heights church.
Co-living company Common continues its DC expansion as it has announced that it will occupy the former Mt. Rona Baptist Church at 3431 13th Street NW (map). The church was built in 1919 and has been vacant since the structure was damaged in the 2011 earthquake.

Common Monroe, created in partnership with Outlier Realty Capital, delivers a total of 46 bedrooms in eight furnished shared suites, including a shared living room, dining room, and kitchen. Amenities include a roof deck and garden.
The units retain several aspects of the hallowed interior, including stained glass windows, pillars, and recesses. The original bell tower now houses a stairwell that serves the four-story building.
As with other Common memberships, lease terms are flexible and all utilities (including internet) are free. The units include free access to a washer/dryer, a smart TV, and weekly cleanings of the shared spaces. Common Monroe is the fourth Common co-living community in DC proper.
