Carr Properties Moves Forward With 234-Unit Alexandria Development

An Old Town development originally pitched back in 2021 is moving forward.
On Monday, Carr Properties announced the planned transformation of a vacant office property at 901 North Pitt Street into a 250,000-square-foot development with 234 apartments, including affordable housing. The project will have15,800 square feet of outdoor space, a performing arts venue, and nearly 7,000 square feet of additional ground floor retail space.

An iteration of this development, designed by SK+I Architecture, originally won approval from Alexandria back in 2022.
"Old Town is a highly sought after market in the DC-area, characterized by its exceptional walkability, historic neighborhood character, vibrant restaurant scene, and proximity to desirable business and entertainment hubs,” Oliver Carr said in a release on Monday.
