Capital Bikeshare is listening.
The ever-growing bicycle sharing program has developed an interactive map that allows people to offer suggestions for new station locations. Users can also comment on the suggestions made by others and “like” or “dislike” them, ARLnow recently reported. The map still has a few bugs, however we were able to successfully post a request for a station directly in front of UrbanTurf’s offices at 18th and S Street NW.
This past spring, UrbanTurf reported on Capital Bikeshare’s plans to expand in Arlington and DC. A statement from the company’s website about its DC expansion plans:
In the District, a total of 34 new stations are planned for installation this year. Six are to be installed the first week of November, and the remaining 28 are slated for mid-November. An additional 18 existing stations will be expanded to accommodate high ridership. A map of planned stations is available on the DDOT website.
