In this week’s edition of Best New Listings, we look at a couple of nice new properties to hit the market in Capitol Hill over the past few days.
Million-Dollar Row House Near Lincoln Park For Under A Million
This three-bedroom row house near the southwest corner of Lincoln Park was carefully renovated by an owner who wanted to restore many of the property’s original features, including the exposed brick, the heart of pine floors, and all the mill work and molding around the doors and windows. The main level is quite deep, split up into a living area, kitchen and dining area. Off the back of this level is a deck made of Brazilian hardwood that leads to a small yard. The master bedroom has vaulted ceilings, double closets and a bathroom with dual vanities, a skylight and pocket doors. Lastly, there is an over-sized garage in the rear of the property that is large enough for an SUV. For the full listing, click here.

Artist’s Loft Meets Master Bedroom in Shaker-Like Row House
The Shaker style of architecture came from the thinking that every object in a home should have a function and that decoration was unnecessary. This 1,700 square-foot two-bedroom row house near the Senate in Capitol Hill seems to have been designed with those tenets in mind. The home has an almost minimalist feel and the owners wanted a “stem to stern” point of view, so when you open the front door, you can see straight north over the tops of homes in the area to the dome of the Shrine of the Immaculate Conception. Our favorite room is the master bedroom that is so wide open that it almost feels like an artist’s loft. The home also has an enormous basement and a small backyard.
