Rendering of building planned for Carpool site.
This coming weekend, the Arlington County Board may approve the redevelopment planned for the site of Ballston sports bar Carpool.
A development team led by Penzance is looking to build a 22-story, 330-unit residential building at 4000 Fairfax Drive (map). The development would include 264 underground parking spaces and 8,000 square feet of retail. While the new building would take the place of Carpool, the Webb Building, a 10-story office building at the site, would remain, at lease for the time being.
A draft staff report on the development indicates that the Board is likely to approve the plans.
