Three weeks ago, JBG Smith announced that retail behemoth Amazon had signed leases for 537,000 square feet of existing office space in the National Landing area. Now, the company has committed to nearly 50,000 more square feet of space.

JBG Smith announced this morning that Amazon signed on to lease an additional 47,512 square feet of existing office space from the real estate company. Amazon is expected to begin moving into this space, at 2345 Crystal Drive (map), over the next few months.

With the latest lease, Amazon has committed to renting 584,512 square feet from JBG Smith. Amazon is expected to begin moving into 241 18th Street South and 1800 South Bell Street this year, and into 1770 Crystal Drive next year.

A recent zoning application for a Pentagon City site indicates that Amazon will likely seek to construct five buildings at the Pen Place site, which the company purchased from JBG Smith.
