A Compact Rowhouse Goes a Smidge Over Asking
Homes in this area of DC, nestled between H Street NE and Lincoln Park, have been hitting the market frequently this year, and the 300 block of 14th Street NE is no exception (a new home on this block seems to hit the market every month). Case in point, this rowhouse’s neighbor was listed the same week. But unlike its somewhat less-updated twin, this two-bedroom has large expanses of exposed brick and an updated kitchen. This house went for $6,000 over asking and was on the market for just six days.

A Mount Pleasant Rowhouse Goes $135K Above Asking
Mount Pleasant’s housing market does not appear to have cooled off much since we wrote about it back in June. We predicted this house would incite a bidding war, and it looks like it did: The home went for a whopping $135,100 over asking after just six days on the market. The rich paint colors of the traditionally-styled listing complement its wooden door frames and flooring, and the bathrooms reveal brass fixtures and traditional layouts that have been brought up to speed sometime this century.
- Address: 1882 Monroe Street NW (map)
- Price: $849,900
- Sale Price: $985,000
- Bedrooms: Three
- Bathrooms: 2.5

An Eastern Market Victorian Eclipses $50K Over Asking
This uniquely-styled rowhouse near Eastern Market on Capitol Hill went $58,000 over asking after — you guessed it — six days on the market. The home has big expanses of exposed brick along the stairwell, as well as a long brick rear patio and parking. As far as layout, it is in essence a two-bedroom home with a rental. The main section has one larger bedroom and a smaller option upstairs. Downstairs is a one-bedroom suite that helps with the mortgage payments.
- Address: 607 A Street SE (map)
- Price: $849,000
- Sale Price: $907,000
- Bedrooms: Three
- Bathrooms: Two
- Year Built: 1908
