A Look Inside CB2

UrbanTurf visited CB2 yesterday, the furniture store whose official opening over the weekend generated quite a bit of buzz. The new store is located at 3307 M Street (map), about a block and a half west of Wisconsin and M in the heart of Georgetown.
When UrbanTurf visited last night a few minutes before closing, we were immediately grabbed by the same bright, modern vibe witnessed at the handful of other CB2s around the country. The staff was similarly bright, not to mention plentiful; there seemed to be a one-to-one ratio of sales people to customers.
For those unfamiliar, CB2 is the funkier, cheaper, urban-er little sister of Crate & Barrel. The pocket dining tables and carbon nightstands sold by CB2 are targeted more to young-ish apartment dwellers than families furnishing a single-family home in the ‘burbs. Think IKEA crossed with Crate & Barrel. It seems to be a winning concept; DC is the ninth CB2 in North America, with a tenth slated to open this summer in Toronto.
A sales associate UrbanTurf spoke with said the weekend’s opening was “crazy busy.” Were you there? Let us know what you thought in the comments.
Following are a few photos we snapped during our visit yesterday.
